L2017-01 Laptop fire at the cabin of a parked airliner at Helsinki-Vantaa airport on 7.3.2017

The Safety Investigation Authority, Finland decides to initiate a safety investigation according to the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011) into a laptop fire which occurred in the cabin of a parked airliner at Helsinki-Vantaa airport on 7.3.2017. Cabin crew extinguished the fire and evacuated the passengers to the terminal. There were no injuries or damage to aircraft. The aircraft involved was an Air Berlin A320.

Airline Pilot Jani Holmberg, is appointed as a team leader of investigation group. The members of the investigation group are Flight Purser Sanna Winberg and Air Safety Investigator Tii-Maria Siitonen. Investigator Heikki Harri is appointed as an expert of rescue services. Chief Air Safety Investigator Mr. Ismo Aaltonen is appointed as the investigator in charge.
